I came to the US as an aupair, with a J1 Visa. But I'm leaving my host-family and it is getting hard to find another family through my aupair agency. I think I'm not going to get it in time (I have just one more week). I was invited by one family to work for them as an aupair, too. But the family won't register in my agency (because it is too expensive).
What happens if I decide working to this second family (without agency)?
hi, I hope you can solve your problems...I don't know how to help you but all the same I wanted to ask you some information cause I wanna go to the states and I'm trying to get a J1 visa on own, without Agency, it's possible? My mail is javel66@hotmail.com and I'm from Argentina, thanks.-
There are some areas of work which are not covered by this J1 Visa and these include:
* Au Pair, Mother's Helper, Nanny, Babysitter, Servant, Maid or other jobs of a domestic nature in private homes * Medical Services (medical interns or anything involving hands-on therapy, counselling, administering treatment or making diagnoses of medical, psychiatric or psychological patients, or veterinary work involving hands-on care) * Camp Counsellor * Crew member on ships or airplanes, or as pilots (employment on ships that travel within domestic waters is allowed) * Any Sales job that requires the participants to purchase sales merchandise themselves, in order to resell it (e.g. door-to-door sales) * Teaching either as language teachers, qualified or certified teachers or teaching assistants
