The number one way of getting a job for me has always been spreading the word to all the people I know. Somebody always knows somebody who is looking for help or has seen some store that is. There are many great sites the will help you such as Monster.com or the local newspaper website. Last but not least is to go to every store and talk directly to a manager and if they are not hiring leave your resume behind just in case.

Remember don't give up so easily or else nothing will get done!

Yes I agree with talking to family and friends, that is how I got my job even before I left my country. Here is a saying too from what I heard 'One would like to eat fish, but would not like to get into the water' enjoy! :)

There are so many ways to find a job on the internet! What I like about searching for a job on the net is the fact that you can search the entire country or just inside a small town! I always visit monster.com for job listing, and sologig.com for freelance artist work on the side. Craigslist.com is great, as well as about.com's job search feature.

One more thing on about.com, it has great resource for writing resume's and job search in general. Here is a link to the jobs section there:

Relatives and friends have always been helpful to me, but usually when I'm looking for work in general, not a specific job. One thing that is really popular aamong my friends lately is home health care. The work is easy and rewarding, with little training.

Wow so much useful information here I am really impressed with all of your input! I never knew about sologig.com until I visited these forums, thanks for the help. Keep plenty of resume copies to give to potential employers and learn from me by keeping them in a nice folder or else you will end up with coffee stains on them...don't ask lol.
