I'm from the bronx but moved 2 cork few yrs ago!! 2 summers ago i worked in yonkers in a shop in cross county shopppin mall..was the only white girl there haha but it was loads of fun and they were constantly lookin 4 staff! i duno bout bars cuz i was 20 and u have 2 be 21 to work in a bar! but americans love hiring irish in irish pubs! dont kno how much rent is cuz ive always had sum1 2 stay with but im sure we'll all find somewhere! I'm gona get a few friends that live in wodlawn 2 put up ads 4 rent so fingers crossed!!

Good idea Kris Fly, I just added u as a friend on FB!! I was born in Brooklyn and moved to Roscommon when I was 5! Worked in NY for a summer two years ago too but I was upstate so didnt get to see the city much! Very excited about moving to Woodlawn, Ive heard great stories!! Sounds like its gonna be a fun summer :) Keep me updated and I'll let ye know if I come across anything also!!

Going to Woodlawn end of May with a friend, and it is definetly the place to go :) Used to live a few minutes away from it growing up and tons of pubs and irish students and your half hour from the city on the subway :) and its handy enough to find jobs around there they have a Aisling Irish centre giving all jobs adv and stuff so its usually handy out :) and your not gonna get much cheaper when looking for acc...looking to share anyway...if interested email me michaellapower@yahoo.ie :D x

Hi Meabh, do you mind me asking how you found places for accom? Did you use craigslist? I spent last summer in Woodlawn with 10 lads and we found it unbelievably hard to find accommodation and eventually only got it through a Gaa team...
