Hey me and a friend are planning on heading to New York this summer. anybody been on a J1 to New York before? where would you recommend to live? I was on a J1 before and lived in philadelphia and came up to new york a few times and thought it was unbelievable craic. anybody planning on going this year? where you planning on living? have you got a job yet?
I have been to NY for two J1 summers! It was great fun!! i would recommend living in Queens. I lived in Astoria in Queens which was so close to the city on the subway! There are a few Irish areas in Queens as well...Woodside and Sunnyside i think. I got a job through a family friend but other then that its pretty easy to get a job as long as you are there early enough in the summer.
