Me and 5 other girls have our j1 booked and paid off for Miami this summer....but the things is none of these posts have anything helpful to say about fininding jobs/ accomodation etcetc! :) I there ANYONE who went to Miami or even knows people who went to Miami and how they got on ( we know its gonna be hurricane season, south beach will be expensive and stuff)... we just wanna rollerblade on the beach like a will smith video haha (do people actually do that do ye know??) Any replies would be seriously great thanks! :)
i have never been but my friends went last year. although they had a brilliant time, 2 of them came home in mid july cos they couldnt get jobs also they got no accomodation and had to fork out money to stay in hostels. they said the weather was very unpredictable aswell...it could be hot for a few days then like rain for a week. they said that there wasn't alot of J1 students there either (which is either good or bad, what ever you prefer).

Ya i was looking at collins avenue alright or around Lincoln road seems like the best spot I was on that website too a 2 month rental sounds like the best idea! were going from the 1st of June til the 31st of August and styaing in the South Beach Hostel for a few nights at the start to get to know the place and other people staying there :)

I was looking around lincoln road or collins avenue on miami beach for places to live, just at holiday rentals not actual real estate so we can stay there a month at a time and se how it goes like its not cheap like for the 6 of us to be in a 1 bedroomed place its working out at bout 100 dollars a week....to sleep on the floor like haha
