hi there! I've been looking for job for such a long time and can't find anything....I made many phone calls and sent thousands of emails and still can't get a job offer....So I've started wondering about job hunting, but it's my first j1 and I'm little bit afraid....I have to decide whether give up or go and hunt for job. I need some tips and advice from those, who went to the U.S. without previously provided job! many thanks!
Hello Alexandra! I know the torture you are going through but do not fret! Travel companies are somewhat misleading when they say that many J1ers get a job before they go! I applied to so many last year before I went to Chicago, with no avail, many do not even respond to your e-mails or job applications!!! I got a job in a restuaraunt after the first week, job included a free meal with every shift and the tips were good! I went wit 6 friends and trust me, you are guaranteed a job once you arrive. I am going to Cape Cod this summer, out of interest I applied to about 10 places, only 2 responded and said that they dont pre-hire!
My advice, give up your job hunt, relax and just cold call employers when you arrive! Have fun!
