Hey Im heading out with 5 other girls on the 1st of June....so exciting!! Just wondering if people have been there before- how easy it is to get accomodation and jobs?!Ive looked at the j1 jobs website but theres nothing for HB although i realise its probably a bit too early yet but they seem to have jobs for everywhere else!! Also is it a good place to go?! i dont know anyone whos gone there before so any info would be much appreciated...Thanks!!
I was in HB last summer with 10 friends, its soooooooooooooo good, had the greatest summer!!! The beach is absolutely picturesque, big waves(great for surfing, and being chased by crazy dolphins......seriously), really clean, really safe, cool friendly people. Main street is great aswell, no real clubs but a good few disco bar type things, great fun!!!!
We got accomodation in a place called 'Huntington Breakers', it was so good, pool, jacuzi,gym,volleyball courts,putting green,tennis/basketball courts,bbq area which we used loads. It was also about 90seconds from the beach and 10mins walk from Main street, try get a place there if ur lucky enough, its the place to be, it might be a bit tough though cuz people kinda pissed off the management. Jobs arent that tough to get if u get there early and arent lazy. I worked in Baskin Robbins, pay wasnt that good but it was a great laugh, met loads of people. Try places like 'Kilarney's Irish Pub', Starbucks, 'Freds' mexican bar/restaurant, 'Sharkeez', 'BJ's pizza, few of my friends got jobs in a surf camp aswell, check out craigslist.org
Also head down to Malarky's in Newport Beach on a Wednesday night, its $2 a drink, its about 10mins away in a taxi, crazy times! Laguna Beach is also about 25mins away, LA about an hour away. San Diego about 3hrs away, head down, see the zoo, go to Tijuana that night, gotta do that. Ur so lucky, HB rocks, youll have such a great time.........i really miss it sniff sniff!!!!
