I will be entering the US to begin postdoctoral research at a university from next month. I've been to my embassy and received my visa, and I've got my DS-2019. The problem is I'm getting conflicting information about whether I can enter the US after the date my program begins.
To clarify, there's no program as such involved - simply my own research - so when the university asked me for a start date, I picked the earliest one I could envisage, thinking that this date would need to have passed for me to enter. It turns out I can enter up to 30 days before my program starts, but I can't get clear on whether I can enter after the date on my DS-2019 form. I'd like to travel to the US about 4 days after the date printed on the form.
