Myself and a mate (both female and 21) and possibly 2/3 more are intending to head out to the US this summer. Still undecided on where to go though? Where are you going and why? We've been thinking Seattle or Texas but are open to ideas.
Me and my friends went to Boston last summer and had an unbelievable time!! Such a nice city and all the people we met were so sound. We were all really lucky that we all got jobs pretty much straight away, but met a few j1ers who had to go home because they couldn't find anything.. We didnt want to hang out with just Irish so we didnt go to the Irish bars too often, and we still keep in touch with our American friends, they're even coming over to visit in a couple months! The only bad thing is that bars close at like half 1, clubs is a bit later but compared to New York where bars close at like 4 it was a bit of a let down. On the up side its only a few hours from New York if you want to pay a visit!! Honestly I'd go back to Boston in a heartbeat, I loved it, but gonna head to California this year to see the west coast. You'll have a ball wherever you go really!
Am pretty keen on going to Seattle myself with a friend next year. It just seems a bit different than all the other destinations and I'd say there's a great music scene and stuff there. Also interested in visiting Alaska or Canada for a day from there 'cus they aren't too far away.
Would love to go to some gigs and do some different things like that.
I mean we can get pissed at home in Ireland so I'm not really going over for that kinda thing like a lot of j1ers.
