5 of us heading to long island preferrably as we were told summer in NY city is very humid and the long island beaches are apparently amazing and jobs are so easy to get as everyone travels down from teh city and tips are excellent in bars and cafes!!...we are heading over 29th of may and coming home end of Aug!!...would be great if we could get a bunch of J1's 2gether and share accomodation as iv been told its very pricey !!...were all aged 21 and from Dublin!..
Any interest would be great, also any info on long island in general would be great....accom, jobs, etc

Montauk is amazing..be warned it is a tiny town,one main street basically but this makes it for me!It really depends wht you`re looking for.There is plenty of irish..the irish invade the place during the summer months!Jobs shouldnt be a major prob but the first year I went we found it kinda difficult as people were hiring towards 4th of july.Just do a bit of emailing before!!It really is an amazing spot..I couldnt say anything bad about it,only thing I would say is that getting accom can be a problem.The last two years I stayed in The Tipperary Inn,which is great craic but its a dive and the owner is an actual psycho.Long Beach is also ment to be really good and obviously closer to NY but MTK is only 3 hours on the bus/train.

anyone heading to long beach? saw it mentioned there a few times but leaving this all a bit late.. meant to be a good spot like serialJ1er said not far from the city and plenty of beach clubs for jobs.. let us know if anyone is headin out that direction
hey two Galway girls both 21 heading to long island/montauk this summer and looking for people to share accomodation with we heard it is handy to get houses for big groups and it works out pretty well! spent last summer in vancouver living in a frat so used to sharing!!
Hey neasamcg13.I was in Montauk the last two years and it is almost impossible to find a house!The irish dont have the best reputation when it comes to people leasing/renting out houses to them!!Still try but just letting you know it might be tough enough!
Hey i'm from long island but too far away too commute. I have a job lined up but I've had trouble finding reasonable accommodations so far and was looking on here for advice, possible roommates or a place to live. I can afford a decent amount because I have a well paying bar job.
