A group of us are deciding on where to head for our j1 this year. We decided on East Coast and heard long Island was a good place. Just wondering if anyone knows what its like for jobs/accomodation/parties. If anyone has any experiences I would appreciate it! Or if anyones thinkin the same! Cheers
Well Long Island is New york city so ive read up a bit on New York in General for j1's but i think finding jobs is meant to be hard enough! were as we were also looking at long beach like Montauk. . its fairly confusing alright!!
i heard long beach is quit easy for jobs :) its just the accomodation but if ppl are sharing then its all good :) montauk is supposed to be the most expensive..apparntly iv heard off a few people they didnt pay any less than 105 dollars a week on accom...veeery expensive to me! they stayed in a hostel to because mantauk is supposed to be quite small and normal housing and apartments is very hard to find...long beach on the other hand is supposed to be easy to get accom as long as you have a good few people sharing to bring down the costs..:/ i dnt know..its all very confusing...
Hmmm interesting! Ive heard quite similar so dont think your far off the mark! Ive heard that Long Beach is good for jobs if you get in early . . as in start of june for when the resorts want people to start work for the summer and the tips are meant to be good cos everyones rich haha but yeah the accom is meant to be through the roof! I plan on sharing with someone but in a room thats about 600 a month cos thats what my friend did last year and just split it with a mate, so not sure if those expensive areas would be ideal, especially working for minimum wage :-/ Thinking more boston now. still heading long beach? looks class planning on getting a job in a beach club have relations over there so trying to see if they have any pull.. let us know if you's are still heading out!

sorry staying with relations.. saw a fb group where someone was looking for acc as well was that yous? where yous working we got a job at the atlantic beach club doesnt seem to far out.. should be good craic
