J1 Froum: With J1 visa can you apply for status adjustment?
If you find someone who you really love and and have a child or children with can you change your status? I have sent emails to all the right people but still have not received anything yet. I think I will need to consult to a lawyer, but I sure hope not. :S
I dont think you can change your J1 status, but I can be wrong? Maybe an extension??? There has to be some legal loophole covering that topic by applying for a greencard and that can take years.
I think that marriage has to be a factor when it comes to loving and having children. That is, love doesn't count on paper for some reason, but marriage does! It is difficult making that kind of decision based on legal circumstances instead of being really ready for it. I hope that you can figure this one out!
