Hey there, two lads here headin to hawaii too, gonna be arrivin on maui on june 5th and will probly be lookin for people to share accomodation with. Looks like we'll be staying in kihei as a friend of ours was there 2 years ago and said twas the best place in hawaii for j1ers and good for accomodation and jobs and a few nice bars no doubt. Will probly make enquiries bout accomodation soon as i'm just waiting to get the name of the complex all the irish students seem to stay in over there.
hey diarmuid just saw your comment there i'm heading to maui in june with friends aswell, hoping to stay in south kihei - did you find the name of that complex?
hey! I went to Oahu last summer visiting some friends. Waikiki is amazing. we went to maui for three days and the general consensus was that Oahu was a much better option to live in than Maui. There is no public transport in Maui and it is very hard to get around - mostly hitch hiking. Maui is amazing also but I would advise people to live in Oahu and visit Maui instead. Transport is really good in Oahu - the buses go all around the Island. I really want to go back to Waikiki...i know it pretty well. Anyone interested in joining me? i have a few ideas for accomodation email= hawaii2007j1@gmail.com :)
There is public transport on Maui. Its not as efficient as it Oahu equivalent, but it does exist. I J1'd Maui and visited Oahu, in my opinion Maui is the better option for a place to live, especially if you are under 21.
hey y'all me and my cousin are heading out to oahu on the 5th of june and like the rest of you are looking for accomadation if anyone has any ideas on accomadation please let me know. were probly going to waikiki so if anybodys interseted in sharing and ur cool reply
Hey janie the place we're staying is called maui vista, it's a big loada apartments near the beach in south kihei. We know people who were there last year and the year before and said twas fine and in a good location so one of us got onto yer man at www.mauivista.com and he gave us a good deal for the summer on a 3 month lease. We told him there's 4 of us going and even tho it's only a one bedroom apartment we're getting he didn't seem to mind. Apparently the last few years a lot of irish students stayed in these apartments anyway. Hope that helps.
Hi, there people, i'm from Argentina and my girlfriend and I are going to Hawaii in December. If it is possible i would like to contact any of you who have already been there in oreder to get some tips or information, primary of jobs oportunitties and places to stay. If you can give us your jobs after you leave, that is when we are arriving, it would be great! If any of you want to contact me my msn is: absolut28@hotmail.com
Hello.everyone ,i have one big apartament front in beach,in waikiki, near beach ,beautiful local, near a la moana shopping,la moana buildin, have big pool and tennis court.if interest contact me my email is evajapan34@yahoo.com.br
hey two of us heading to lahaina maui and would be looking for people to share, the accomadation semms resonable enough if you rent a house and have a good few people to share, anyone else thinking lahaina? friends were there two years ago and they loved it and all got jobs,
i am heading there with 3 friends. i can't decide whether to go maui or honolulu as i was in maui last year and i was offered my job back. i wanna see what the numbers are for places. i would say if you are under 21 that honolulu is better. i was in lahaina last year and it was hard for getting in and its such a small town beach parties weren't really an option. kihei looked really cool though too
hey honolulu isnt great if your under 21, like you cant realy drink on the beach the cops are alway there. There is only like 2 club you can go to if your U21 and they take your passport of you on your way in so that if your got drinking they can call the cops. If your being offered your job back in maui i would go there cause jobs in honolulu are hard to come by.
hi, Anyone going to Honolulu this summer?? I do with my friend and looking for place to stay, room or studio or house to share. Please contact ginte27@gmail.com Mahalo
