   I lived in New York when I was younger and got a SSN when i was there,does anyone know if this number might still be valid or would i have to apply for a new one???

   I was born in the U.S but and I have American citizenship so I dont need a J1. However I heard that it can be serious hassle getting a SSN over there if your a citizen. Does anyone know how I could get this sorted before I go over, Iv been told I should really do this??HELP

   u cant get a ssn unless u are in the us. u have to physically go up and apply for it, u cant do it online or anything. once u have it tho its the same number for life
