Mobile Phone use in the
US is EXPENSIVE. Don't pay the rip off charges over there, get a MAXROAM
sim before you go and get a US and Irish number in one. Call home for
the price of a local call from your mobile!
In the irish times today i read that visas are being cancelled/denied to irish students under the age of 21 in california this summer. Because of the huge increase of public order offences caused by irish students in the previous summers (i.e underage drinking, fighting, vandalism etc) they're imposing an age limit. It said those under 21 will be informed via email/post within the next 2 weeks. Im ok cause im 21 but most people on J1's aren't. This sucks.
Its rubbish Im not 21 and my J1 visa was only succesfuly secured last nite from the US Embassy and when I was asked where I was heading I said Santa B California!Scare mongering!
