Mobile Phone use in the
US is EXPENSIVE. Don't pay the rip off charges over there, get a MAXROAM
sim before you go and get a US and Irish number in one. Call home for
the price of a local call from your mobile!
San Diego is probably the strictest city. Most places in America seem to accept Irish driver licenses which are fairly easy to get your hands on.
The bars around PB seem to only accept passports, but downtown and off-licenses in general all accept drivers licenses. I've talked to people who went to new york and boston and they said the drivers licenses worked.
Do they have to be originals or will colour photocopies do if they're laminated?... I'm dreadful for losing stuff on nights out and wouldn't risk my passport or driving license.
