hey, have a house in the middle of hyannis for the summer. its big enough for 6. We have 6 people but rent is still 100euro a week, so its too pricy for us to afford. Hey ghayes91 :) have ye sorted jobs yet or looked at any accommodation? We havnt looked up anything yet but as far as I know most people get big groups 2getrr and get massive houses 2 share...brings the price down!! Can't wait....if any1 has any advise just post!! <3
Hi Kate, we've looked at a couple of houses alright but they all seemed way too expensive. Nothing on jobs yet though. We are flying out the 29th of May so should hopefully be there early. House sharing seems the only way to go if you want reasonable rent alright. ye have any plan yet?
Not yet. I looked at a few houses tho and if you can get a group of 10 together the rent seems ok. Average about 30-60 dollars a week each. Thats not bad! I think ya just have 2 search 4 a while but iv spotted a few. Nothing on jobs yet but 2 be honest I havnt looked. I defo wana stay in the hyannis area tho because it seems 2 be easy enough to get a job around there. We are not going until the 15th of june tho but wer thinking about going a bit earlier just depending on college exams. If we cant we'll just have 2 find a group 2 warm up the house for us b4 we get there...haha :) have you been on a j1 b4 or have you heard much about cape cod??
Paying between 30-60 dollars a week would be perfect rent, I always thought we would be paying over 100 dollars each even if we shared with a large group. No I haven't been on a j1 but I've been to cape cod before, it seems very relaxed all the time. I know a good few people who went there last summer and they loved it so hopefully it should be good craic. I have heard that the weekdays can be quite enough down there but everyone comes down at the weekend.
I tihnk it just depends on where you look. I have seen a few around that price but trying to find them again is impossible. It can get pretty expensive. Ya I know a few who went and loved it but iv never been before so I kinda just want as much info as I can get. I can send ya on a link 2 the houses we wer looking at if ya like? Ya we are almost 100% going to Hyannis, whats catching us out is we don't know wether the price is weekly or monthly on some of the houses since they say nothing. I am going to cape cod this summer with a friend, i have an american passport but she needs to apply for the j1. Has anyone gone for there interview to get the actual J1? Worried about the3 conditon of her passport. Its fine, not ripped or torn, but its not exactly perfect. Its been used so some of the pages on the inside or just slightly discouloured. it says it must be absolutely perfect. anybody had problems with there passport while getting the j1??
