I was thinking about doing the J1 this summer for the first time but I'm also thinking of dropping out of college and starting again next year because I hate my course.
What way would this affect my J1? If I get the form stamped as soon as I get it, then drop out not long after that, will the Embassy shun me or something similar? :P
    Cheers

This is EXACTLY what I did. Got the form stamped the day before my fees were due then dropped out.

It's different if you are deferring though.

Embassy said nothing to me regarding my course. If you're concerned, pay your fees :)

If you drop out after you get the form stamped what did you do for to prove your current status of study?
