as i mentioned in another comment im going next summer with my friends who are in collage (im not in collage) there going working on the j1 but i cant work over there so is anyone going along for the trip like myself living like the students but not working there just bringing your own money.
Alright mate. Yea i'm doing the same as you. The good thing is we can save up money while our friends are in college and then just spend that when we get there. Apparently over in the US its still fairly easy to get a part time job without the J1 so no worries. Either way its gonna be fun . Where you going?
ya that is good alright.are you serious people will hire you without a visa that would be brilliant that we wouldn't be on or own looking for something to do while our friends are working.santa barbara id say.what bout yourself.
hay guys , i had te same prob. my m8 wantd 2go bt shes not in coll eitr! we went tru so much to try get her a visa but its jst not possible!! but av an aunt living ter n she said that terz no hope of sum1 hiring ya witot a visa, apparantly ter fairly strict espically wit tem bein in recession aswell!! but u neva no!! gud luck tho
Hey a group of us went on the J1 this summer... we all had visas bt 2friends got jobs that paid cash in hand so they never had to use it, they werent asked to produce nytin.... so there is definatly hope of gettin wrk witout a visa!! we heard of a gud few ppl in the same siuation!!
yea you deffo don't need a j1 to find a job but it will make it easier. There are loads of jobs on craiglist to look up when you get there like painting etc. No need for a j1 just cash in hand
yeah a my friend of mine is doing the same. Would their be any trouble at the airport or anything tho? Would airport security be suspicious or anything about staying in america that long and not working?
