Difficult in San Diego? Assuming you can pass a drug test, you're 100% good for a job in Sea World.

I worked in sea world last year, be warned nobody got a job there until the end of july, they hired the majority of their summer staff in May before the Irish arrived. Could be the same next year. U'll defo get a job with "elite security" tho, u dont even have to do an interview..

Besides Seaworld and elite job prospects are very few and far between in sd..

Thanks Anon1! Question.... would the hours with elite security be regular or would it just be a case of when theres an event u might get work??

Dooderz, the hours are very irregular. You could be called in an hour before an event.

On the plus side, you get to go to gigs. Some of the lads got to see RHCP and Tool when they were working. You're pretty much there to fulfil a legal requirement. Not much else.

I didn't end up working there if you know what I mean.

Those I lived with that did work there liked it. Most were working in diners and drink stands. Some operated the rides.
If you can, just bring enough money to not work :)

Dooderz i would recommend the same, try and bring enough cash to last u the summe and not bother with the J1.. About $3000 would do the trick. Exchange rate is shit atm tho. The two weeks i worked with seaworld were the worst two weeks over there.. Mind they were still unbelievable.

On the other hand, working with Elite is piss easy, u basically get paid to wear a red t shirt and stand in the same place for hours on end. Also u will get to work "Comic-con" - the largest comic convention in the world.. Expect to see hundreds of celebrities, I saw keanu reeves, creaters of simpsons, Samual L jackson and loads more.. Its really easy work and the pay is class.. I made $600 (some people made $900) in three days at it... the easiest money i ever made, i actually enjoyed working at it.

i have a situation here... we were offered to train in one of the company in the US. we prepared all the documents, paid all the fees, processed everything, got our J1-visa approved, and have purchased the ticket. just 9 days before my start date, our training was cancelled/withdrawn!!! reason? because of the economic crisis... the withdrawal was done 2 months after the offer of training and we have gone a verrryyy looonnng way. now our stay in the US is illegal and are advised to go back to our home country. helpless we are... we're in culture shock and have to handle this situation at the same time. we're told we are not allowed to look for other company who could train us so we can't go home in tears. huhuhuhu.. we can't go home but doesn't want to stay illegal in the US. to who should we address the problem?
