Myself and my friends were thinking either ocean city or long island for the summer.wont be a big group so we will prob need to share accom. has any1 been to either place before?whats it like???any advice is appreciated!!!
Yeah me and just two other girls goin away and were planning on ocean city but havent heard of anyone else going there so sorta changing our minds now!!
I was in Ocean City in 2006. Best place i've been for a j1, lots of jobs, accommodation isn't too expensive and transport is great and cheap was $2 to ride the bus all day! And the beach is amazing! There was 8 of us when we went over, and didn't know any other irish people goin but there was loads when we got there. Cudn't recommend OC enough tho, would go back any chance I could get!

Theres loads of jobs along the boardwalk in Ocean city so u shudn't have a problem gettin one. 22nd of june is late to be goin on a j1 cud be hard to find accommodation anywhere in america at that stage! We didn't have anything organised b4 we went over just booked a motel for the first 2 nights we arrived and then went lookin for places.

Heading out there 1st of June for three months, few may have jobs sorted..rest don't and as for accommodation we know someone who's been before so getting info and contacts from them. Have you booked, are you going with others?
7 of us goin too, dont think ya'd need to sort out accomodation til like april no? Hopefully it'll be handy to get jobs over there, were goin out around the 24th of May so shud be fine

thinking about heading here as well for J1 with another girl and one guy. Heard jobs are really easy to come by and it's amazing down there. What's the story with being 21? Heard it's pretty strict. Also, how much is like cost of living and accommodation and all that?
I'm thinking along the same lines. Few friends heading to the east coast somewhere. Was thinking Long Island, Cape Cod or Myrtle beach but Ocean City sounds great, haven't heard a bad review and a lot seem to be going. Hadn't thought of it til now(mainly because I hadn't heard of it!)
I was in Isla Vista last summer and didn't get a job. None of our group did. So I have to find one this summer or I won't last 2 weeks, east coast is the best bet. Anyone been to two of the places I mentioned, could they compare them and let me know the pros and cons of each?

Was in Cape Cod last summer, UNREAL, wud def recommend it if anyone's thinkin of it. ID was not a problem! Some1 somewher will buy ya drink. And accommodation is grand to find when ur over there. . We all got jobs (11 of us), some even got 2!
Met a lot of Americans too, goin back to visit em this year! But they say Long beach is good for parties! :) Whoop cannot wait. Deposit down today!
