There are 3 of us heading out (2guys 1 girl) - anyone interested in getting together to get a bigger place? i might have a 4 bed house - ie 8people, about $70 per week per person including all utilties etc - and right in the middle of wrigleyville, the place to be in chicago! let me know
Have at least 1 space to rent in apartment, few blocks from lake, wrigleyville stadium and red line el stop (the 24hr one).......sharing room with another girl, 2 guys in the other room. apartment will be unfurnished, but then again we'll get stuff when we're out there, tis always the way!!
Rent will be approx $80 per week including all the utilities etc etc. available 1st june till the 31st august.....let me know
Hey There are 3 of us guys thinking about heading to either Chicago or San Diego - but every seems to be going there. Havnt got jobs ar accomodation sorted yet - have not looked into it. May try rent a house as it probably cheaper than appartment so may need people to share with if anyone is interested??? Dont really know

I'm just wondering where, those of you who have accomodation sorted already, found the info and connections you needed to find a place?? The only recommendation I've noticed is to look up Craigs List, which I have, but find it difficult to differenciate the places available in the summer, from the current lettings... Could anyone recommend any other avenues I should try? Or could anyone let me know the best way to find appropriate stuff on CraigsList?
try grey line sightseeing tours or chicago trolley tour company - all irish work there - can get info about them from sayit website or would get job if go to them when out there - wages are pretty good too - 8 dollars per hour plus a bit of commission paid fortnightly --- othewise try navy pier and shops or restaurants long beaches

I'm staying in the North suburbs but thats only ok if you have a car as basic things such as a shop can be quite far away! The transport system tends to suck once you get out of the inner city. Wrigleyville's a cool place I've been there before and with the bus and trains its easy to get around, I'd live there if it wasn't so pricey...
Grace, just keep watchin Craigslist... You never know when the perfect place will appear... I checkin it about 3 times daily for about 3 weeks, sending out at least 2 or 3 emails a day before I got into proper negotiations for a place. We're only staying in Chicago for 2 months though, so that didnt work out as they wanted a 3 month lease.... But no sooner that fell through, I found another apartment in the very same complex for rent, and within 2 days it was all sorted. I was really starting to worry, but it all worked out brilliantly. we only have a 2 month lease so far but trying to wangle a few more days cos i don't know if i wanna sign a 3 month lease yet. none of the apartments seem to be furnished

Has anyone emailed people about accomodation over there and got any good feedback? We've seen a few good places around wrigley field and emailed about them but all of them were lookin for people to move in asap. And what is everyone lookin for? Big houses/apartments and just fit as many in as possible to make it cheaper or what?
Hey, Im heading over wit 3 lads on the 28th of may. we dnt have any gaf yet but were lookin still at the mo. we wudnt mind gettin a gaf with with a few girls if ur headin over same time.
If there were 8 or more living together you would need a big house but im not sure what the availability of those is. Apartments for 4-6 i'd say would be the best and are the easist to come by by the looks of things. Im sure you could get apartments close to one another and if every1 seems to stay within the vicinity of wrigley field then it should be too bad.

yeah 8 people is a lil bit much to be honest. we've actually found a decent looking appartment at a pretty cheap cost its not furnished nd the landlord said she'd furnish it for a fee but we could probably get some for cheaper! its only myself and emma that are goin over so there'll be extra bedrooms! anyone interested in sharing email me at jessiecoyne@gmail.com and I'll give you the info i have on it so far!
