A group of five of us girls heading out to santa barbara at the end of May straight after the exams, can't wait!! All first time J1ers though... Eek!! Anyone over there before/heading over this summer??
Hey, Andy here.... i've been working in santa barbara for the last 5 months and i'll be here untill end of August 2010 on my J1. Im working as a bartender/manager downtown so let me know if u need anyone to show you around and i can show u the best places to go/look for work etc... If u can handle the fact im a kiwi (im assuming you're australian?) and that we will always be better than you at all types of sports then i'd be more than happy to meet up and show u round, introduce u to some people and so on. By the way, good choice with santa barbara, its a super sweet place, especially in the summer, u guys will love it! Im going to thailand for 10 days with some mates in may but i'll be back in santa barbara on the 23rdish so let me know if you're keen to catchup!
yup we're heading to santa barbara this summer too! were headin out on the 23rd may!! theres 3 of us goin over....3 girls! :) we have nothing planned yet....we dunno what to do about jobs or accomodation yet?? are yous sortin all that out before you head over or just goin with the flow when u get there??
Yo Andy cheers for the help!! But you assumed wrong....... Irish students!! :) So ye being better at sports etc is a-ok by us!!! Will it be hard to find jobs, we've zilch organised?? We've zero accommodation too, we were thinkin of just bunkin in a hostel to begin with and winging it after that.... organisation is not our strong point!!! :) Anyone thinkin the same?
