Hey, just wondering are people who are heading to new york city looking for jobs before they go over, or are you just waiting until you arrive and then start the hunt? I've no real clue where to start but will work at most jobs I can get and would ideally like to work in a cafe or something with tips. Worked in the staes before and have always used craigslist to search so I assume I'll just be doing that again and hopefully finding something. Anybody got any advice on how to approach the job hunt in NYC?
hey mark iv been lookin at a few places before going but most want you to apply in person so findin it a bit difficult. either that or they give out only phone numbers no email. i was looking at mainly bars and restaurants too. but no luck so far. im gonna keep lookin but if i cant find anything il have to wait til i get out there. hopefully employers will start advertising for summer work soon lol.
hey, ive been looking on craigslist mainly and sent quite a few emails but not got many replies. There seems to be loads of open calls though so hopefully it will b easy enough to get something over there if ur not goin 2 late
yo, I'm heading to Long Island for the summer (beaches lol) was looking around and emailed a few people about lifeguarding and waiter jobs just there so hopefully will get a few reply's. Just wondering has anyone heard anything from any people they emailed about work yet?
I got a job offer for a private golf club in Long Island, its called the Creek Club, looks pretty cool and they provide u with your accommdation and meals and stuff for just 25 dollars per week, the wage is really gud and so are the hours so ul actually be svaing loads!! THING IS, i want to stay in the city, but i know i shouldnt really be fussy when im offered a job like that! i found that job on j1jobs.com! also on craigslist the jobs i applied for, bar work and waitressing mostly, i got a reply and was told just to pop into the place when i arrive,for an interview like... i dont think they generally hire you before you go which is quite annoying cos u want somethin sorted before u leave!! something should come eventually!!! :)
