Myself and 5 girls headin to boston in June. Don't have a clue wer to go. Heard I shud go 2 Brighton??? Is this any good?? or can u suggest anytin else??
From this forum alone, there is a load of different groups heading over so accom. sharing shouldn't be a problem. A few people have mentioned staying in TDC frat house in MIT but can't seem to get in contact with the owner of the house. There is other frat houses in MIT but they don't seem to be replying either.
Generally, all the Irish tend to go to Brighton from what i have heard anyway so i'd say there will be certainly a few messy sessions on in that area over the summer and there is a few houses up on craigslist at the moment. After that, i'd say Cambridge or Allston maybe.
Got in contact with a few Frats, most wont take internationals due to problems with them in the past!. Heading over with one mate on the 1st June. Only decent price i can find are sublets.. I went to boston last summer and ill give ye a few of my experiences which hopefully will be a bit of a help. I lived in brighton with 11 other j1ers. The landlord thought there was only 5 in the house so rent was dirt cheap. He found out halfway through the summer though so upped the rent. We were lucky however as alot of ppl were in the same situation and got thrown out when they were caught. Id is very strict in boston. Go over with at least some form of id as ull find places that will accept it. I had my brothers cancelled passport which worked everywhere. If living in brighton try for a job in Target in watertown. Thats where i found work. Dont go over with cvs. No one takes em. A food joint called Elephant and castle in the financial district hired alot of j1ers last year. Thats bout it. Enjoy!!
Myself and my mate are heading to Brighton for the summer. Accommodation booked but no jobs. People I know said it's such a good place and that it's easy get jobs there. Apparently ID isnt so strict there either.Are ye def going there? If ye are, would be cool to talk more about it on Facebook or summat...

Hey lennypaine, Im going to cape cod this summer but im only 19... was thinking of taking a friends old passport with me but was worried that twud be caught when they scanned the bags or something... did you just take it over in your checked in bag? would a fake drivers licence or the passport work better? thanks!
